She is a registered social worker with a master’s degree in social work. Marly offers in person sessions in Revelstoke, BC, but provides virtual sessions across British Columbia
Experience
Marly has been counselling individuals and couples for the past 4 years and has extensive experience with several presenting concerns including: Anxiety, Relational Issues, Trauma, Substance Use, Big Emotions, Stress, Gender-Based Violence, Grief, and Isolation/Loneliness. Marly typically sees older children, youth, and adults.
Approach
Marly practices from a Narrative Therapy lens, which stems from the belief that the person is not the problem; rather the problem is the problem. Marly views you as the expert in your life and believes in supporting you through curiosity, co-creating meaning, and deconstructing narratives that may be getting in your way. Marly practices from a critical social work lens that is steeped in feminism, postmodernism, and social justice.
Marly believes that it is an honour to be present and witness your experiences and stories as told and felt by you. As such, she will write poems, stories, and letters to you to reflect your time together.
Additional Information
Marly is registered with the BCCSW for social work. She is approved with most extended benefit providers and direct billing is available for her services.
